Ford won’t be making a new Focus RS, as that project has been shelved, so the Focus ST remains the Blue Oval’s hottest hatchback on sale. A rival to the likes of the Honda Civic Type R, Volkswagen Golf GTI and Renault Megane RS, the front-wheel drive model has had its looks revised by JMS Fahrzeugteile.
The glossy black diffuser, signed by Rieger, with cutouts on each side for the carbon-coated tailpipes that are part of the Milltek sports exhaust system, and the KW Variant 3 coilover kit that has lowered the ride height are part of the upgrades.
As for those flashy wheels, with black looks and orange accents, they are part of Barracuda’s Ultralight Series. Dubbed the Project 3.0, they are 8.5×19 inches in size, feature a Y-spoke pattern and are shod in 235/35 Michelin rubber.
The German tuner hasn’t touched the engine of the Focus ST, but even without any mods, the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder develops 276 HP (280 PS / 206 kW) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. Top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h), while the sprint from rest to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) takes less than 6 seconds.
As for the diesel version of the Focus ST, it packs a 2.0-liter EcoBlue engine with 187 HP (190 PS / 140 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. It has a top speed of 137 mph (220 km/h) and for the 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration, you are looking at 7.6 seconds.
